Customizing Your Skincare Ritual According To Your Skin Type: Day and Night Procedures

Recognizing your skin condition is crucial. It's not only helpful, but necessary in formulating an appropriate plan for skin care rituals throughout the day. Below we suggest three approaches based on the three primary types of skin: oily, dry, and combination skin.

 Oily Skin

Morning Routine:

1.Cleanser: Salicylic acid based cleansers are useful as they help in unclogging pores by foam cleansing which does not leave any extra oils.

2.Toner: Use astringent toners with witch hazel to help reduce shine and control oiliness.

3.Moisturiser: As oils are unfriendly for oily skins, a lean oil-free moisturiser is recommended so as to not overhydrate or heavy laden the skin.

4.Sunscreen: Broad Spectrum Sun Protection creams with 30+ SPF should be the last step.

Evening Routine:

1. Cleansers: Gentle foam cleansers are best suited as pore unclogging helps reduce oiliness.

2. Exfoliation: Dead skin cells can be removed through the use of chemical exfoliators on a week adjusted schedule of 2 to 3 times biweekly.

3. Treatment: For better pore sizing and oil supervision, apply serums infused with niacinamide.

4. Moisturiser: Light, oil free, creams without an excess of heavy ingredients should be used.

 Dry Skin

Morning Routine:

1.Cleanser: Get a creamy and hydrating cleanser that does not remove or deprive the skin of its natural oils.

2.Toner: Get an alcohol-free toner that has glycerin or other similar substances.

3. Moisturizer: Apply a thick emollient cream for prolonged moisturization.

4.Sunscreen: Use a moisturizer with a sunscreen of SPF above 30.

Evening Routine:

1. Cleanser: In the evening use the same creamy cleanser that you used in the morning.

2. Toner: Use the same hydrating toner that was used previously.

3.Treatment: Apply a nourishing serum with hyaluronic acid or ceramides for better moisturization.

4. Moisturizer: At night, apply a thicker night cream to retain moisture throughout the night.

 Combination Skin

Morning Routine:

1. Cleanser: A gentle cleanser can be used in the morning as it is suitable for all skin types.

2. Toner: A toner for dry and oily skin should be applied as well.

3. Moisturizer: Pick a thin moisturizer that will hydrate but not clog the pores.

4. Sunscreen: A sunscreen that has a gel base is preferred as it has a broader range for things.

Evening Routine:

1. Cleanser: A gentle cleanser will do the trick once more.

2. Exfoliation: Use a mild exfoliation once a week as it can do wonders to the skin without the risk of drying it out.

3. Treatment: A serum should be used that can target dry areas or patches as well as being able to treat areas that are oily.

4. Moisturizer: End with a moisturizer that fits every part of the face.

Conclusion

One's skin type is irrelevant, it is important a person has a properly organized skin care routine. Picking the right products and having a solid pattern of following them both in the A.M. and P.M can dramatically improve the texture and health of the skin. Do not forget to do a patch test when trying new products and check with a dermatologist especially when in doubt about specific skin requirements.
